SmoothShot

Slippery When Wet

SmoothShot is an all-in-one firearm maintenance product that simplifies gun care by combining a cleaning solvent, lubricant, and rust inhibitor into a single formula. It was created for streamlining maintenance of your firearms, offering a convenient way to maintain your firearm’s reliability and extend its lifespan.  It is designed to clean away fouling and carbon buildup, lubricate moving parts, and protect metal from rust, carbon buildup and corrosion in a single application. A rust-free gun is a reliable gun.

SmoothShot ensures reliable performance with every shot - whether you’re at the range, in the field or storing your firearm.

The manufacturing of firearm parts is a process filled with opportunities for rust and corrosion to wreak havoc. Whether the parts are clips or brackets, muzzles or gun sights, or basic hardware, such as bolts or screws, if they’re made of metal they are susceptible to rust. Parts, such as the barrel and other moving parts like the breech, trigger housing, slide, bolt, and cylinder, all need to be cleaned of any dirt and residue. Then, after brushing/wiping all areas, the gun will be lubricated for it to function properly and then oiled to protect it from rust and/or corrosion. SmoothShot will handle all that for you.

Microscopic particles, dust, salt, and water vapor can accumulate on the metal surface of your firearm. If you’re not cleaning your firearms regularly, you’re leaving them vulnerable to rust. The chemical reaction of firing your weapon attracts a lot of environmental debris into it. That’s why it’s important to use SmoothShot to clean, lubricate and protect your firearms regularly according to the manufacturer’s specifications.

SmoothShot

Key Features:

  • Lubricate:Reduces friction on metal-to-metal contact points like rails, pins, and the trigger mechanism, ensuring smooth operation. Long lasting lubrication.
  • Protect: Creates a protective barrier against moisture, rust, salt, air and corrosion, even in extreme temperatures. Helps to prevent Carbon buildup. Superior rust protection.

Benefits of SmoothShot

  • Simplicity: One product for multiple tasks, ideal for quick cleaning and field use.
  • Versatility: Works in extreme hot and cold conditions. Safe for all firearm metals and finishes.

How To Use

Safety Check - SmoothShot is your firearm’s best friend.

Before you begin, always confirm the firearm is unloaded. Remove the magazine, open the action, and inspect the chamber both visually and physically.

Next, follow the manufacturer’s disassembly instructions. Field-stripping the firearm gives you access to the components that need cleaning and ensures safe handling during the process.

Clean the Barrel and Other Moving Parts – Keep it clean. Keep it smooth.

Start with the barrel. Attach your bore brush or bore snake to the appropriate cleaning rod and apply SmoothShot which is designed to remove carbon and powder residue. Run the brush through the barrel several times, allowing the solvent to loosen the buildup. Follow with clean patches or a cloth until they come out without residue. For longer barrels, an extension rod may be necessary to clean thoroughly from chamber to muzzle.

Other parts you can clean during this step include the breech, trigger housing, slide, bolt, and cylinder. Use cotton swabs, brushes, and a small amount of SmoothShot to remove debris from these areas. Be thorough, but gentle; scrubbing too hard can damage sensitive parts or finishes.

Lubrication and Protection - SmoothShot provides trusted performance shot after shot.

After cleaning your firearm, give each component a final wipe-down with a clean, dry cloth. This removes any leftover solvent or moisture that could lead to corrosion over time. Once everything is dry, it’s time to apply SmoothShot.

Lubrication plays a key role in keeping your firearm operating smoothly by reducing friction between moving parts. However, it’s important to avoid having a heavy hand with lubrication, as applying too much can attract dirt, dust, and carbon buildup, which may hinder performance instead of helping it.

Focus on applying a light coat of SmoothShot to high-friction areas, which are typically places where metal parts slide, rotate, or come into contact during use. Depending on your firearm’s design, these areas may include:

  • Slide rails (semi-automatic pistols)
  • Bolt carrier group (rifles)
  • Trigger assembly
  • Hinges and locking lugs
  • Cylinder and crane (revolvers)
  • Operating rod or recoil spring assemblies

When in doubt, consult your firearm’s manual for specific lubrication areas. In addition, you want to use a small amount of SmoothShot and distribute it evenly across your gun using a cloth, swab, or applicator tip. The goal is to create a light, protective film, just enough to shield the gun from moisture and oxidation without attracting excess debris.

Once lubricated and oiled, reassemble the firearm and perform a quick function check to confirm everything is working smoothly before storing it away. This might include sliding certain components back and forth to spread the lubricant evenly and check to see if enough was applied.

Finally, give everything a quick wipe down with a clean, soft cloth.
